I got this adorable fabric which is a fat quarter bundle from Fat Quarter Shop. It comes with 40 fat quarters so make sure and see all the colors.

  • Fabric 1: 2 – 5″ squares, and 2 – 2.5″ x 4.5″ rectangles
  • Fabric 2: 1 – 2.5″ x 10.5″ rectangle
  • Fabric 3 and 4: 2 – 5″ squares of each

How to Sew Your Diamond Panes Quilt Block

Step 1:

Cut your square fabrics in half diagonally. You want to sew a print fabric (3 and 4) to a fabric #1 using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Press your seams towards the darker fabrics.

Step 2:

Lay out your fabrics as in the photo above. You want to sew your first row using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Press all your seams towards the middle fabric.

Step 3:

Sew your bottom row using the same instructions as above. Don’t forget to press your seams.

Step 4:

Finally, sew the three rows together and press your seams. Now square up your diamond panes quilt block.
