Fabric for Layer Cake Quilt Block

This fabric is from Fat Quarter Shop. They have a daily special on fabric and great fabric options. Here are the measurements for the fat quarter below. I always use my rotary cutter and cutting mat. If you have an Cricut you could easily place your fabric on it and cut it out with a few pushes of buttons.
- Fabric A (Pink Fabric) is 7 1/4″ x 7 1/4″
- Fabric B (heart fabric) is 3 1/4″ x 7 1/4″
- Fabric C (Green fabric) is 3 1/4″ x 10 1/4″
Instructions
Once you have all your fabric cut out, you want to sew Fabric A to Fabric B using a 1/4″ seam allowance.
Press your seams towards your darker fabric. You are already 1/2 way finished with your layer cake quilt block.
If you are making it into a quilt and not just a quilt block, go ahead and sew all your pieces so you can chain stitch later on.
Now connect your Fabric C by sewing it to your other 2 pieces again using a 1/4″ seam allowance. Just like before you will want to press your seams flat towards your darker fabric.
Go ahead and square up your quilt block. It should measure 10″ x 10″ but not if you are a beginner, sometimes fabric will shift or shrink, and it may not measure exactly.
