Supplies for Triangle Baby Quilt Pattern
-5/8 yard of five fabrics for the triangles
-1/2 yard binding fabric
-2 yards backing fabric
Instructions:
Cut each fabric into 5″ wide strips (for a baby quilt, use four strips from each color). Next, cut each strip into 60-degree equilateral triangles, ensuring all sides of each triangle are equal in length.
To sew these together, lay two triangles side by side with the points going opposite directions, or long sides facing.
With a 1/4″ seam allowance, sew along one edge from point to point. Trim the excess fabric from the tips to reduce bulk at the seam intersections.

Before sewing too many pieces together, decide whether you’d like to plan your pattern ahead or let it come together randomly. We chose a more random layout while keeping the color usage balanced. Continue joining the triangles into rows—this quilt size uses 18 triangles per row.
Sew the rows together, carefully aligning the triangle points as you go. Continue adding rows until you reach your desired size—we used 14 rows for this oversized baby quilt.

Once all the rows are sewn together, trim the edges to remove any excess triangle tips and create clean, straight sides.
Layer your pieces and finish your quilt. Then add your binding so you can complete your triangle baby quilt pattern.
